Everything is happening in the Discworld. Mort is a young boy at the age of 18-19. It's kind of hard to tell. He doesn't look very smart and capable of doing any trade. However, his father wants him to become an apprentice. Noone would take him, but somewhere about midnight DEATH comes and accepts Mort. He's going to become one of the tools of his trade, as slowly he gets the hang of it. He meets DEATH's daughter, apprentice, and rides Binky (DEATH's horse). They all live somewhere above normal people and world where everything is black/white or gray (DEATH doesn't quite understand the look we're used to). Everything goes on pretty well until Mort goes alone to try his "trade". At the third soul, he does the one thing he shouldn't do- save the soul. Although he becomes more than just a man and his eyes look like he has seen things nomal people don't usualy see, he must stop history from repairing itself and changing everything. It's up to you to read the book and find out what's going on and feel the excitment, adventure and the special mood of Terry Pratchetts' books. It'll take you to a journey out of a world that's not our world..
