The main characters in the book are Bella, who is in love with Edward Cullen - the main vampire. Jacob, who likes Bella, The Cullen Family, Bella's friends and her father are also main characters. The evil ones are James, Victoria, and Laurent.

Bella moves form Arizona to Forks because she has to live with her father - Charlie. Forks is a small town, and there is only one school. All the children know each other, and the first day they are looking really strange at Bella, because she is a stranger, but in the lunch time, she finds some friends. They are talking about random things when the Cullen family enters the cafeteria in couples. Emmett is with Rosalie, Jasper with Alice, but only Edward is alone. Bella's classmates tell her that these family is really weird, and that they didn't talk to anyone. Then Bella and Edward meet in class, but he look very repulsed of her. Then he doesn't show for some days. When he returns, he now talks to Bella, and they are having a group work in their Biology class. There they talk. Bella notices that his eyes are a different color from the other day. In the same day, a car almost ran over Bella, but Edward saved her. The weird things were that Edward managed to come extremely fast and pushed the car so hard, that it was smashed. Bella can't believe and starts asking questions, but she never gets the answers. A while after that, a family friend, Jacob Black, tells her a local legend about '' tribes ''. She is starting to wonder if the Cullen family are vampires. Then she goes with two of her friends, Jessica and Angela, to "help" them with the choice of a dress, but she stops by the library and actually buys a book about the cold blooded. When Bella is going back to find her friends, she runs on a group of boys that are "bullying" her. Suddenly, Edward comes form nowhere with his car and saves her. She touches his hand, not in purpose, and figures out that it was very cold. She spends the whole night googling vampires, and Bella makes the conclusion that Edward is one of them. On the other they, they go in a forest, and she asks him. He tells her, so she knows for sure now. By the time, they fall in love. They are having a great relationship, but one day, a new vampire group joins them, while the Cullens are playing baseball. One of them noticed that there was a human among them. James, one of the bad vampire group wants to hurt Bella( to bite her, kill her, etc. ), but Edward wants to protect her. The Cullens hide her in a hotel in Arizona when she receives a phone call form James, and there he says that he has kidnapped her mother. Bella is ready to sacrifice in order to save her mother, so she goes directly to James. There she finds out that this was all set-up, and James attacks her. Before he really kills her, the Cullens came and saved her. They also kill James. Before James was killed, he managed to poison her by biting her hand. Edward saves her by sucking the poison and so she is not becoming a vampire. The book ends at a ball, Edward and Bella are together, and Bella actually asks Edward to make her a vampire, so that they could be together forever, but he refuses.
The book was easy to read, and that is the reason I picked it, but I don't really think it is very sensible. Maybe it is too much fantasy for me. I think it doesn't have a deep idea in it, like something to really thing about. I can recommend it to those people who would like to read something really easy, something that won't keep their attention so much, and won't make them think about the ideas in the book.
