In this John Stanford book, on an early July afternoon, two men,one large and one small, were rolling their van down Oak street. It was the richest walk in town and right on number3 lived an old lady and her caretaker.

The book "Invisible Pray" starts with a scene, that shows us two criminals driving in a van. They park in a side street and ring on the doorbell of a very rich house. As soon as an old lady opens the door, they kill her viciously with a pipe, after that killing the other old lady the same way. They rob and smash around the house. The next day when the detectives arrive, their first impression is that a drug addict robbed the house, so he could buy himself drugs. But as they look more closely, the detectives realize, that some antiques of great value have been stolen from the house...

"Invisible Pray is set in the city of St.Paul, U.S.A. The detectives travel throughout the city and we also hear about the murderers/robbers who go on vacation in a place called "The Brook".

There are three main characters in the book. The first one is Lucas Davenport. A married middle-aged detective who is well-respected in his office takes on the case about the two murdered elderly ladies. He is 180cm. tall, he has short light brown hair and usually wears jeans and a linen shirt. Leslie Widdler is a tall middle-aged man who owns an antique shop together with his wife, Jane Widdler who went ot college together with him.

P.S. I use the word "middle-aged" because that's how it was written in the book.
